Phi Beta Lambda

About a week ago my husband and I traveled to Atlanta, Georgia for the PBL national competition. This was the first time I was ever able to go with him on any of his business trips. It was way fun.

We went to Coke World, which yes I'll admit, didn't have much appeal to a non-carbonation and non-caffeine drinking person. They did have these shirts that smelled like pop at the end which were cool. Later that day we went to the CNN center and got a tour of how they did news. We also got to ride up this huge escalator, it was eight stories tall and took two minutes just to ride up it.

We also went to the Aquarium, that was a blast, I wish we had had more time there. They had four whale sharks there that were just fascinating to watch, they are big fish. I also liked to watch the otters, they are so playful.

The very last day we went to the zoo. I was sad that we didn't get to see the baby panda. Both of us liked watching the orangutan. This orangutan was playing a computer matching game and doing very well. It was so cool to see just how smart they were. We started talking about how some apes have been taught to sign, and we thought it would be interesting to see one of the gorillas that can sign interact with this little almost two year old boy that we know that can also sign.

The last thing we did was go the the Museum. The coolest thing there was they had this science exhibit about our senses where you got to do lots of experiments with your vision and learn more about how your senses work.

And of course since we were there for the National Competition, JP competed. The competitions consisted of taking a test and a role play situation presentation. He and his partner Kada took 6th in Human Resource Management, and 3rd in Management Concepts. I'm so proud of my very smart husband.
